We are forever changed because of COVID-19. Our daily lives, how we socialize, and conduct ourselves as a community is now completely different. We also grapple with current events that are challenging on many levels. USTA Mid-Atlantic deeply believes that not only is tennis for EVERYONE but that through the sport lives improve by fostering health, connections, communication, and community. It is why we work tirelessly to make tennis the most accessible sport in the region. Tennis can help all people – socially, emotionally and physically. Together we can work to #ServeItForward through tennis to combat the crisis and build up Mid-Atlantic communities.

WAYS WE ARE SERVING IT FORWARD
USTA Mid-Atlantic Community Tennis Association Recovery Grant
In an effort to assist with the current climate that has resulted from the COVID-19 pandemic, we have re-structured our Safe Place To Play funding this year to create a new grant program to support local CTAs in the Section. We will continue to evaluate the situation in regards to grants for 2021.
The USTA Mid-Atlantic Recovery Grant program was created to help Community Tennis Associations (CTAs) defray some of the tennis-related costs associated with resuming play in 2020 if your programming was put on hold due to the impact of COVID-19. These grants must be used for tennis-related costs for equipment, cleaning and sanitizing or other tennis-related expenses that you’ll need to reopen programming, once local, state, and federal guidelines allow. We want to help you get your organization programs going again, because your programs will be crucial in keeping tennis growing as we navigate our way through this current crisis. These grants are not designed to cover lost income, dues, or revenues.
The deadline to apply for the CTA Recovery Grant was July 31, 2020. Currently, the Mid-Atlantic Section is in the process of evaluating applications, and those that have applied will be notified as soon as a decision has been made.
